My hair holds no shape so I can't keep it strait or curly for very long so I need an alternative to a ponytail all the time.

ponytails arent always bad!! u can hav a funky ponytail. u could freench braid ur hair around the hairline and gather it into a loose ponytail.or try different clips in ur hair.
