My parents WONT LET ME CUT MY HAIR!?
It's one thing for everyone to try to maintain a tradition, but it seems like your Mum has a double standard. I wonder if mum is allowing you to shave your legs, etc..., or is that also the same reply as hair cutting?
There are many Sikh women here in the USA who now are shaving their body hairs (and waxing their arms), and I rarely see any that lave 'life long" hairs!!!
Hope this helps.
My parents WONT LET ME CUT MY HAIR!?
Think of a good reason why!
Instead of saying that you don't like the way it looks say:
"Mom/Dad, my hair is becoming very unhealthy from lack of cutting. The split ends are unbearable and it jus overall looks a mess. May I please have it cut?"

ask them why you dont have a choice and then go from there

I agree, it is very healthy to clip the ends of your hair every couple of months. Use this this as a starting point and work from there.

honestly just go and get it without telling em they'lle realize u look better with the haircut and wont care lol
Your mother should not have a problem as she herself gets her hair cut. Actually she should promote you to go to a hairdresser. And as you say she asks your dad to get his hair cut too.
ReplyDeleteSeems mothers in India are more open and go not go bonkers if their children want to get their hair cut. Especially these days many themselves get their kids haircut explaining convenience and less of pressure.
It is a good way though.
Get simplicity into your life. Talk your mother into it and start with getting split ends trimmed even before you ask her. Work on it from there on and after a couple of months you can go a few inches shorter. And continue gradually till you decide what length you want to keep it.
Short is better. Get brave and start experimenting
